Table Tennis in Waltham

The Waltham Table Tennis Club meets every Thursday evening at the Waltham Village Hall, from 8pm to 10pm, with the exception of the months of August and December. There are no membership dues, but there is an attendance fee of £2 per evening. This covers the cost of renting the Hall, with any surplus being returned to members at the end of the year, in the form of little presents to be won at the Christmas Dinner.

The evenings are intended to have a social aspect as well as sporting; the only skill required is to be able to hit the ball. The standard varies from absolute beginner upwards, but with some very skilful players who also play in local leagues. There are players from Waltham and Petham, with others from further afield. If you feel in need of some exercise, but want to have fun at the same time, this is the way to do it. Occasional attendees are also very welcome; you don't have to commit to coming regularly.

The Christmas Dinner, organised by Christine, is usually held at the Chequers Pub on Stone Street. It is intended to be a fun evening with some at-table games being played (I should clarify that this is not table-tennis, though). Occasionally there are other outings during the summer, too.
